ISA FORUM OF SOCIOLOGY

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
 
1. VACANCIES
1.1. 250 vacancies for Volunteers will be offered;
1.2. If the 250 vacancies are filled, other applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
 
2. REQUIREMENTS
2.1. Intermediate/advanced English;
2.2. Be an undergraduate student and be 18 years of age or older;
2.3 Be available from 14 - 18 of June 2020;
2.4. Attend the mandatory briefing for monitors on July 13 2020, at 5:00 pm, at the Event’s Opening Venue;
2.5. Be available to the agreed schedule and committed to Volunteer activities within the chosen period, always considering 2 days of activities as Volunteer:
Day 14 / Day 15 / Day 16 / Day 17 / Day 18
 
3. MONITOR'S ASSIGNMENTS
3.1. Follow guidelines and supervision of the Monitoring Coordination;
3.2. During the event:
Welcoming speakers, collaborators and participants;
Assisting with logistics;
Passing on information and providing useful orientations to participants;
Delivering accreditation material at the registration desk;
Advising participants on practical matters such as where one can print, make copies, the Wi-Fi code, the nearest facilities (e.g. banks, shops) etc.
Monitoring activities and assisting participants in different spaces of the event;
Ensuring classrooms are open and PowerPoint presentations available on time;
Assembling, organizing and inspecting all material in rooms and auditoriums where the work presentations will take place;
Preventing any non-registered person from entering sessions (check badges of participants entering sessions and plenaries);
Inspecting attendance lists (only for activities that require subscription);
Meeting the demands of the event under the guidance of the Coordinator, at specific times and activities;
Assisting participants with special needs.
 
4. REGISTRATION AND EXEMPTION FROM REGISTRATION FEE
To apply, interested students must:
4.1. Forward an email message to inscricoes@aconteceeventos.com.br with the subject “Monitoria ISA Forum”, providing Full Name, CPF, choice of volunteering dates (indicate 02 days) and attach PROOF of enrollment as an undergraduate student in a University (for the current period);
4.2. Candidates selected as volunteer will be exempt from the Forum’s registration fee (the selection committee will submit a copy of the student card to ISA.
 
5. CERTIFICATION, WORK and WORK PRESENTATION
5.1 A Monitoring Certificate will be provided for monitoring hours and a Participation Certificate will be provided for other attended conference days.
5.2. To receive the Certificates, the volunteer must attend the total of designated monitoring hours and sign the attendance list of the chosen days;
5.3. Monitoring activities must be carried out during the 02 chosen volunteering dates; the volunteer can attend other activities during the 03 remaining days of the event;
5.4. Volunteers whose works were selected for presentation during the ISA Forum must not be scheduled for monitoring on the same day of the presentation. If this occurs, contact the Organizing Committee.
 
6. UNIFORM AND FOOD
6.1. Volunteers should wear jeans and sneakers and the Forum’s t-shirt and identification badge. Skirts and shorts will not be allowed on monitoring days. T-shirts and identification badges will be delivered when signing the attendance list.
6.2. Volunteers will receive a meal voucher per day (maximum 2 days) valid at a location indicated by the Organizing Committee.
 
7. IMPORTANT REMARKS
7.1. The Organizing Committee will not be responsible for expenses with transportation to the event location (travel from the monitor’s city of origin to the city of the event, or any other expenses with transportation), nor expenses with accommodation.
7.2. Volunteers will not be allowed to change monitoring days without prior authorization from the Organizing Committee.
